lottery tickets I can buy, thereby increasing my odds of finding contentment. I can decide how I spend my time, whom I interact with, whom I share my body and life and money and energy with. I can select what I eat and read and study. I can choose how I’m going to regard unfortunate circumstances in my life – whether I will see them as curses or opportunities (and on the occasions when I can’t rise to the most optimistic viewpoint, because I’m feeling too damn sorry for myself, I can choose to keep trying to change my outlook). I had the opportunity to see and hear Liz Gilbert a few weeks ago, during her book tour for her latest book, “Committed”. She is a clearly bold, witty, joyous woman! I am inviting her to be a guest on my radio show, “Joy of Love and Life.” Now, that’s bold of me, yes?

I was inspired by her presence, more than anything specific she said. She read an excerpt from her new book, then took questions from the 500+ audience. Most people related to her from their experience of reading Eat, Pray, Love. I found her to be She gracious and generous. I left the evening with a sense of appreciation – and intention.
